For a more natural voice, pick a “natural”, “neural” or “enhanced” voice from the list, or install one in your device’s text-to-speech settings.
On Android, install the free, open-source speech engine SherpaTTS (offline voices), then: Settings > Languages & input > Text-to-speech > preferred engine: SherpaTTS, and download your language’s voice. Close the browser, reopen it and reload this page. SherpaTTS page on F-Droid
On iPhone or iPad: Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > Voices, pick your language and download an “Enhanced” or “Premium” voice. Then reload this page.
On Windows: Settings > Time & language > Speech, add a voice for your language. Microsoft Edge also offers very good “Natural” voices.
On Mac: System Settings > Accessibility > Spoken Content > System Voice > Manage Voices, download a voice for your language (preferably “Enhanced” or “Premium”).
On Linux, install speech-dispatcher and a voice for your language (for example espeak-ng), then restart the browser.
“Online” voices send this page’s text (already public) to your browser’s provider to be read. Pick a voice without “online” to keep everything on your device.
