Check the votes

Every vote leaves a public trace that cannot be altered in secret. Here, anyone can check that the votes were counted properly.

🔗 Public registry

Every action leaves a verifiable trace here. The encryption explained below is now active: your choice is unreadable, even to us, unless at least 3 of the 5 election key holders deliberately come together — see the detail below.

🔒 How your vote stays secret

Three simple steps explain what protects your ballot — no technical jargon.

1. Your ballot is sealed before it even leaves

The moment you click, your choice is encrypted directly in your own browser — as if you slipped your ballot into a sealed envelope before leaving home. What reaches our servers is already nothing more than a closed envelope: we never see your choice in the clear.

2. No one holds the key to open it alone

The key able to open these envelopes (and only once all votes have been added together, never a single envelope) is split into 5 pieces, held by 5 different people. At least 3 must come together voluntarily to get a result — never just one person, never us alone.

3. Proof of submission, not a voting receipt

After voting, you receive a code — a bit like a parcel tracking number. It proves your sealed envelope arrived safely and wasn't lost, but it reveals nothing to anyone about what's inside: you cannot use it to prove to someone who you voted for, which also protects against pressure or vote-buying.

⚖️ What is honestly guaranteed today

This mechanism is active for the four secret-ballot methods (for/against, approval, majority judgment, Condorcet). Acknowledged limitation: the 5 key holders mentioned above are not yet independent of one another — recruiting them is underway. Quadratic voting and ongoing participatory-budget funding remain deliberately open ballots (not encrypted): a design choice, not a technical limitation.

🌳 Verifiable Merkle tree

A mathematical structure (RFC 6962, the same one behind "Certificate Transparency" used to secure the web) letting anyone verify a specific entry is really in the registry, without trusting us.

9 entrie(s) verified, root recomputed identically.

Current root : de1b80a97edbaf13ff178973…

⚓ Bitcoin anchoring

Each root of the tree above is timestamped via OpenTimestamps: once confirmed in a Bitcoin block, it becomes impossible to backdate or replace retroactively — verifiable by anyone, without ever contacting us.

Registre local

Linear hash-chain registry — a first check, redundant with the Merkle tree and its Bitcoin anchoring above. Acknowledged limitation: taken alone, this chain does not protect against a full rewrite by the operator; it's the external anchoring above that closes that possibility for roots already published.

Chain intact — 9 entries verified.

🔎 Delegation transparency

Nombre de délégations directes reçues par membre et par espace — mesure brute, avant décroissance et avant prise en compte des chaînes de délégation indirectes.

Un délégué (exemple) 16 ⚠️ carries more than a tenth of this space's electorate.
