We want everyone to be able to use L'Assemblée, whatever their device, eyesight, age or comfort with computers. This page says what is done, and also what is not done yet. Last updated: 4 October 2026.
✅ What is in place
- Everything works with a keyboard, with a “Skip to content” link at the top of each page.
- Colours have enough contrast (checked in light and dark); dark mode and three text sizes are in the “Display” menu.
- Buttons and fields are big enough for a finger, and pages do not overflow on a small screen.
- Each deliberation can be read aloud (depending on the voices installed on your device) and can have an “easy to read” version written by a person.
- The site exists in 9 languages, including Arabic written right to left.
- Ranking options can also be done with buttons and the keyboard: drag and drop is never required.
- An automated check (axe-core, WCAG 2.1 AA rules) reports no error on 15 typical pages, in light and dark (4 October 2026); it does not replace a human audit.
🛠️ What is still to do
- No full accessibility audit (RGAA) has been done by a third party yet: our checks are automatic and manual, not a specialist's.
- No tests yet with real screen readers (NVDA, VoiceOver, TalkBack) or with people with disabilities.
- Not every deliberation has an “easy to read” version yet; the demonstration examples have none.
- Reading aloud does not work on a device with no installed voice; the site then explains how to add one.
- Translations have not yet been reviewed by native speakers, especially Arabic and Catalan.
- A few wide tables scroll sideways on a phone.
📋 Our conformity status
Not assessed. We do not claim RGAA conformity until a full audit has taken place.
